Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers, she regularly combs through beats that are sent to her and discovers that a lot of them result in sparking ideas for songs. She claims that she is able to determine if the beat is great in only five minutes. After that, a fresh song will pop into her brain. I get the words whenever I'm outside on the porch, playing my guitar. It usually takes under thirty minutes. Niykee states that, as she develops as a lyricist her painful memories from her childhood serve as an inspiration. When I'm not writing directly about events that have been a part of my life, all the trauma of my childhood and losing my sister ends in being integrated into my lyrics, she says. It influences my music and provides it with a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I want to be able listen to my music 20 years from now and still feel proud about what I have to say.
